You can work around some of the issues, but not all. Dialog boxes too small to make selections, text disappearing (it's there, but it's rendered white text on white background), the note cards not even big enough to type in, and on and on. Since then I've tried a couple of times (I did like it on the Mac) but always had problems.

I ran into numerous problems using Scrivener for Windows (Windows 10, Surface Pro 4), so many that I gave it up. I check occasionally for upgrades but it's always up to date - they don't appear to be doing any upgrades to fix issues on the Windows product. I had and used Scrivener on an iMac, switched to a Windows PC and bought the Windows version on April of 2016. In my opinion, Scrivener for Windows was not written for Windows, it was ported to Windows. I'd recommend you have a look at the Literature and Latte forums: The last I read it was looking like a 2018 release for Windows. Scrivener is not completely incapable of formatting and that area will be added to further in 3.0. Even with novels you'll be wanting to take the finished scrivener manuscript into something else for specific formatting. Formatting may not be perfect as Scrivener isn't about formatting. Scrivener is fine for screenwriting, although I don't write screenplays. Literature and Latte have stated that they intend to have feature parity across Scrivener with the upcoming version 3.0.
The iOS version is the most recent of the three. Scrivener is (was?) primarily focused on macOS. From what I've seen the Mac version has a some more features, but I don't care.
I use it for writing novels/stories, comic scripts and just about everything else. I've also been using Scrivener for Windows since it was in beta (years ago).
